Ongoing development for a high-traffic AU–NZ fashion storefront: Qantas points accrue when orders are paid (for use toward Qantas travel), balances shown on the frontend via private content and customer data, plus CRM sync, Magento upgrades, and split-order fixes.

Challenge

  • Implement Qantas points accrual when orders are paid so customers can use them toward Qantas flights
  • Show accrued points on the storefront for logged-in customers without caching personalized balances
  • Keep internal CRM data in sync with the storefront via middleware
  • Upgrade Magento to the latest stable release without breaking custom flows
  • Fix split-order bugs that blocked reliable checkout and order creation

What I did

  • Built Qantas points accrual on paid orders and storefront display with Magento private content and customer data—logged-in users only, with no caching of point balances
  • Maintained and upgraded middleware integrating internal CRM data into the Magento store
  • Upgraded Magento to the latest version with compatibility checks for custom modules
  • Resolved split-order flow defects to ensure stable order creation end-to-end

Results

  • Paid orders credit Qantas points; logged-in customers see accurate, uncached balances on the storefront
  • Stable CRM-to-store data pipeline via maintained middleware
  • Platform kept current on latest Magento 2 release
  • Split-order and checkout flows restored to error-free operation
